Lavelle Coleman is one of Ireland's leading law firms in plaintiff driven multi-party class actions. These cases involve multiple plaintiffs suing a defendant or defendants for similar claims. As the law stands in Ireland each plaintiff brings a separate and individual case and seeks damages particular to his or her situation.

Our current multi-party litigation case load includes:
- Property Litigation - Acting for homeowners in Drynam Hall, North County Dublin, amongst others, whose houses have been damaged, or may be subject to latent damage or defects, as a result of the use of pyrite in the infill, or other issues
- Child Abuse Cases - We have been instructed to represent Jersey care leavers in respect of abuse at Haut de la Garenne in Jersey. We are currently taking instructions from people who were abused as children in Jersey institutions. We are also advising victims of sexual abuse at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda
- Licenses - We represent in excess of 200 taxi drivers who are challenging the deregulation of the taxi business which resulted in the loss of a valuable asset
- Investment Disputes - Lavelle Coleman is also a lead law firm in a number of investment dispute cases
The range of cases in which Lavelle Coleman has been involved includes the following:
- Milk quotas - Lavelle Coleman acted for 100 plus farmers who successfully recovered damages for milk quotas as a result of our win in the seminal Duff v. Ireland case, which was heard in the High Court, Supreme Court, European Court of Justice, and succeeded in securing damages in the Supreme Court which resulted in an assessment of damages in the High Court in each individual case
- Property Litigation - Lavelle Coleman acted for the residents of Ballymun flats in a dispute against Dublin City Council
- Product Liability - Lavelle Coleman was a lead law firm in the Hepatitis C actions for women infected with contaminated blood products and was involved in architecting the statutory compensation scheme
- Institutional Child Abuse - Lavelle Coleman successfully negotiated a no-fault redress scheme for our clients who had instituted High Court actions against the Department of Education and Science arising from the sexual, physical, emotional abuse and neglect they suffered in Irish institutions as children
- Swimmers Cases - Our firm is the lead firm in cases for victims of abuse by swimming coach Derry O'Rourke
